What a great idea–doing an illustration for a current news issue. I really really like this picture. Despite the supposed “good news”, it’s still a very dark picture. The city is dark, the lake is even darker, and only the snakes seem vibrantly alive. Great work!

I, too, like the idea of doing something current and topical… Your’s works well. Mine also make attempts to do something “new” (to me at least) in photoshop, and to remember my art theory: composition, color, rhythm, focal point, etc.
Yours is evocative, simple and graphic.
